If you liked the original….

Who does not either secretly or without reservations totally love “blame it on the a a a a a alcholohol” jam by the well respected Jamie Foxx. if you liked the normal version of the song, here is a version of the song featuring lil’ wayne, N.O.R.E., Jermaine Dupri, Young Jeezy, and pretty much everyone else in hip hop.
(since this is a family website - strong language in this song, for better or worse)
p.s. - keep an ear out for my favorite line…”he’s a monkey, I own tigers”

Total Solar Eclipse over China
Posted by QuenchPops | Filed under Current Events
This went fairly unnoticed in the United States, but was a massive news story in Asia. This is a 9-minute video, so unless you know Chinese, forward to about 1:45 and watch through about 2:30. What a crazy, crazy planet we live on.

Sing it, Hippies.

The Free Design were a New York City based, mostly studio orientated family band. The brothers and sisters formed the band at the end of 1966 with singer, Chris Dedrick as the leader of the band. The released “Kites are Fun” in 1967. The group broke up in 1972, and remained pretty unknown until after 2000, when interest in the band came out again and has gained them growing interest.
Here are a couple of tracks perfect for summer about kites and umbrellas. Blast it at summer BBQs and have your friends wonder when you turned into a hippy and when you plan on moving to San Francisco.

Redneck Games

Every Year in East Dublin Georgia, the “Summer Redneck Games” take place. It is a celebration of amazing activities that I am really jealous to have missed, including the Redneck Horshoes (played using toilet seats), Mud Pit Belly Flop, and Bobbing for Pigs Feet. In case you, like me, missed this year’s fun, here are a few shots thanks to the chicago tribune.
self - explanatory:

Check out this guy Nick Cobbing’s photography of glaciers and ice-caps of Greenland. Beautiful stuff, especially in the hot, hot heat waves of July.

Why? Because it’s the Fourth of July weekend and I’m not home in Colorado and I LOVE THIS PLACE. Ranked #3 best water park in the country behind Noah’s Ark (Wisconsin) and Schlitterbahn (Texas) by Travel Channel. Here are my favorite rides…

Atmospheric Architecture
Posted by Coupon | Filed under Art & Design
So recently, I came across this nifty little exhibit called Cardboard Cloud by designers Fantastic Norway from, um, Norway. Based on the “thrill” of unpacking (having moved 10 times in three years, I would strongly disagree with this sentiment), the installation is comprised of 3000 hanging cardboard boxes that creates a pixelated cloud above the exhibition space:

Seeing this got me thinking of other projects/buildings I’ve seen that use an atmospheric motif as a conceptual basis for design. After the click through are a few that stand out.
